Data Collection with Telemetry Consent

If you consent to telemetry, a completed test writes one row to our database containing:

• Speed test results (download, upload, ping, jitter)
• Approximate location (city-level only, not precise coordinates)
• Internet Service Provider (ISP) name
• Device type (mobile or desktop) and a hashed device fingerprint — a SHA-256 of your IP address and browser user-agent, computed in your browser, which links your own runs together
• Test server used

What We Don't Collect

• Your full IP address (we only store a hashed fingerprint derived from it, never the raw address)
• Personal identification information
• Payment or financial details — we never ask for them
• Email addresses or contact information

Data Storage and Security

Telemetry rows carry no account, name, email address or raw IP address, but they are pseudonymous rather than anonymous: the fingerprint hash links your own runs to each other. We do not sell telemetry rows, and we do not hand them to the analytics providers named below. Your local test history lives only in your browser and can be cleared at any time.

How We Use Data

Pseudonymized telemetry data is used to:

• Improve our service and testing accuracy
• Generate aggregated statistics and insights
• Display regional performance comparisons
• Monitor service quality

• Opt out of telemetry collection at any time

Third-Party Services

Every page on this site loads Google Analytics and Yandex Metrica, the latter with session replay and click mapping enabled. They load regardless of your telemetry choice, and they set their own cookies and collect their own usage data under their own privacy policies, which we encourage you to review. If you would rather not be measured by them, a tracker-blocking extension or browser will stop them; the speed test itself still works.

Cookies and Local Storage

We use localStorage rather than traditional cookies to keep your test history and preferences on your device. Some third-party services such as analytics or advertising providers may still use cookies according to their own policies.
