Our Mission
SpeedSnap was built to make internet speed testing fast, honest and open to everyone. We believe you deserve to know how your connection actually performs, so you can make informed decisions about it. SpeedSnap runs one test server, in New Jersey, United States, and publishes its full measurement method so you can repeat any test and check the numbers yourself.
Fixed 15-Second Phases
A run measures latency, then downloads for exactly 15 seconds and uploads for exactly 15 seconds, so every result is built from the same measurement window.
Open About Our Limits
One test server, in New Jersey, United States. Every test measures your connection to that one machine, so the further away you are the higher your ping. We document that instead of hiding it.
No Account Needed
No sign-up, no email, no password, and no raw IP address in your results row. A saved test stores the four measurements plus your city, country, country code, ISP name, device type, the test server, and a hashed fingerprint — the full list is on our methodology page.
Precise Results
Six parallel connections per phase, with the first 1.5 seconds of each 15-second transfer discarded as ramp-up, a documented 1.06 protocol-overhead factor, and a latency figure that drops the fastest and slowest 20% of samples before averaging.
